2nd Java project, database application with SQL connection...

Apr 2007. A project created completely in Java (with Eclipse IDE) which demonstrates a database application connected via SQL, simulating an Car sales dealer. The application was constructed starting with UML diagrams of Use Case and Class analysis diagrams, JUnit test classes were then added for every data class ( ANT was also utilised to help with compiling of tests & classes), were populated with methods and then tested for all test units. Further in development was the use of Jigloo to add and inmplement the interface of the final application which was also voted as best user interface of the rest. The project was a group work and so all tasks were split into sections for each member to complete. The application was to be rapidly developed and some functionality or interfaces have not been completed, but 70% of the application is functional. The project's focus was to use tools for rapid application development, team work and learning the life-cycle of software development from analysis to deployment.

Download the self-extracted file of the final compiled version which will also need as minimum the Java Runtime files (J2SE v1.4.x JRE or later) to be able to run. You will also be required to log-in to the SQL database, so please use 'user' for user name and '123456' for the password. File integrity check: javaproject2.md5

1st Java project, simple database application...

Dec 2006. A project created completely in Java (with Eclipse IDE) which demonstrates a simple text database application simulating an Art Gallery. The application was constructed starting with UML diagrams of Use Case and Class analysis diagrams, JUnit test classes were then added for every data class, were populated with methods and then tested for all test units. Further in development was the use of Jigloo to add and inmplement the interface of the final application. Because of a time-limit, some functionality or interfaces have not been completed, but the concept of the application is functional. The project's focus was to use tools for rapid application development and understand how a developer can benefit by using them.

Download the self-extracted file of the final compiled version which will also need the Java Runtime files (J2SE v1.4.x JRE or later) to be able to run. File integrity check: javaproject1.md5

3rd animation project, 2D lip-sync...

May 2006. Another project created with 2D drawings to make a stopmotion movie of a small speech lip-sync. Images were all DRAWN with pencil and paper, were then filmed in a STOPMOTION movie maker called Monkey Jam which is a very small, FREE and simple that does exaclty this. What has come out of this project is a good understanding how to sync sound with image/animation. To see it in action now, click on the image below:

2nd animation project, 2D human walk...

April 2006. This project was a whole lot of work since to create a normal full walk of a human, needed many drawings, changes, re-draws to create the final movie with stopmotion filming. It was a hard one but I finally got it done! The movie was filmed in a STOPMOTION movie maker called Monkey Jam which is a very small, a FREE and simple software to do exaclty this. This project has empowered my abilities to draw from scratch, film 2D drawings into a movie. Here is were I got my first encounter with stop-motion movie making, which is exciting! If you want to have a look at this animation now, click on the image below:

1st animation project, 3D walk cycle...

FEB 2006. This is the first real project I designed completely from scratch in a 3D application. While learning the basics in animation on a course of "Animating the Human Form", I worked with a 3D animation package and the final result was not what I was expecting... It was much MORE! I never believed that I could start from a screen with just a gridded background, and create an actual MOVING human-like figure! I always looked at screens like that thinking "what are these people doing?"... The animation was not created reading the help file from the animation package, but was made while doing research, studying human movement, the human body, dynamics and observing! If you want to see these animation now, click on the any of the images below:

Animation 1 (animation pull) Animation 2 (animation push)

If you have problems with the links above you can also download the animation pull or the animation push (in avi format) to your system.

1st Web Dev. project, simple web site design...

Nov 2005. A project created from scratch in HTML with full support of CSS. This was my first (but not last) web development project and was fairly easy for me since most of the HTML markup language was already known to me. The project had focus to get an overview of developing accessable web sites with web standards.

You can view my 1st CSS web project in action. The site had an index page which was removed since it's not relevant to the university it was demonstrated. Please note that since then, this site was contructed based on the 1st CSS design but with far more enhancements.
